Roger Edward Kalvaitis passed peacefully, surrounded by loved ones, June 8. Roger was born November 24, 1945 in Detroit, Michigan. In July, 1967 he married the love of his life, Elinor Lentz. They met while working for Farmer Jacks, where he was a journey-man meat cutter. Roger loved his family, his dog Harmony, history, music, tetris, horseracing, cars, and NCIS. He took his kids on many memorable vacations, often around the Great Lakes or East Coast as the whole family shared his passion for the water and boats. He had a wonderful sense of humor and playfulness that made him Fun--he wasn't just a father, he was Daddy.
Roger is survived by his wife, his son Rodger Kalvaitis and his daughters Kimber Bush (Charlie II) and Aimee Kalvaitis.
I remember the last time I saw him. I don't remember if I hugged him or said a special good-by. I doubt it, I'm not much of a hugger. But I remember how much that visit meant to me.
Hope it helps to know how much we care. Wish we could be there but sending all our love. Peggy and Jerry

I will always remember Roger as a great neighbor when I lived across the street from him and his family and I would babysit his 2 oldest children. Great family. He will always be remembered as a great person who loved his family and he was a great father. My prayers and condolences continue for the family. Love you all. Michele Young
