Obituary

SHOOK, Bernadine Louise (Botlock), June 13, 1939 – May 16, 2022, age 82, died peacefully in her home in Taylor, MI after a 3 ½ year battle with Cancer. She was born in Windber, PA., graduated from Saint Casmir High School in Detroit, MI, in 1957 and received her Associate Degree from Madonna College. After a 30 year career in banking, she retired from Chase Bank. Bernadine also served in her church as a Religious Education Teacher and then retired after 20 years as the Director of Religious Education at St. Constance Church in Taylor. She is survived by her sister Patricia (Ralph) Gorski. Bernadine will be greatly missed by her 6 children Richard (Cathy) Shook, Ronald (Donna) Shook, Robert (Tina) Shook, Susan (David) Standafer, Sharon Fee and Sandra (Timothy) Standafer, her 13 grandchildren Nicholas (Cassandra) Shook, Allison (Andrew) Lemerand, Kristine Scott, Dr. Emily (Joshua) Geldersma, Kara (William) Clarke, Zachary Shook, Kory Cosby, Brandon (fiancée Taylor) Shook, Matthew (Brooke) Shook, Benjamin (Kailynne) Shook, Kristopher (Kayla) Cosby, Brianna Shook and Samual Standafer and her 9 great grandchildren Madison Shook, Chelsea Shook, Ashleigh Shook, Levi Shook, Zoey Cosby, Oliver Clarke, Maverick Lemerand, Nova Lemerand and the late Easton Lemerand. She was preceded in death by her parents Nicholas and Mary Botlock. There will be a memorial mass held on Friday, May 20, 2022 at 1:00 PM at St. Constance Catholic Church, 21555 Kinyon Street, Taylor, MI 48180. Her cremation will take place at “The Witness Crematory” located inside of Michigan Memorial Funeral Home. In place of flowers memorial donations may be made to St. Constance Catholic Church.
