Obituary

AFTANAS, Arlene J., age 89, of Trenton, December 29, 2021. Beloved wife of the late Edward Aftanas. Loving mother of Edward (Maria) Aftanas and Pamela (Larry) Krach. Dear grandmother of Jeremy (Sherry) Krach, Sara (Rob) Kellenberger, Lisa (Bryan) McKay, Jason (Jen) Krach and Ashley Kelley. Dearest great grandmother of Kyle, Xavier, Madison, Xander, Isaac, Ivan, Oliver, Kevin and Delilah. She is also survived by her brother Jim (Doreen) Boyd, sister Michelle, Cheri, Eric, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her daughter Lisa Aftanas, parents Beatrice and Lester Boyd and her brother John Boyd. Arlene enjoyed scrapbooking, reading, coloring in her adult coloring books, and taking frequent trips to Elizabeth Park. Arlene especially loved visiting the casino and winning big. One of Arlene’s favorite prayers was the Serenity Prayer. “God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can and the wisdom to know the difference.” Her cremation will take place at “The Witness Crematory” located inside of Michigan Memorial Funeral Home.
