CHILDERS, Elmer “Sonny” C., age 79, of Brownstown, March 20, 2020. Beloved husband of Sue Ann Childers. Loving father of Cheryl (Bill) Henderson, Patricia (Mike) Siebert, Carl (Laqueta) Childers, Trina (Mitch) Dalton, Scott (Tina) Childers and Gregg (Samantha) Childers. Dearest grandfather of 18 and great grandfather of 29. He will be missed greatly by many that knew him and he will also be missed by his dog Chip. He is preceded in death by his parents Bert and Hazel Childers and 5 sisters.
I was saddened to hear that dad died Friday night. I remember him as a smart guy with a good sense of humor, Loving, Caring, and was there if we needed him. You have some of his good qualities also, Sue,. I am truly sorry for your loss, as well as our loss of our Dad, and a Loving Husband to you.Sending Prayer's for our whole Family, to be strong, and for healing us over these times of Grieving. let's all share all the Memories that we all have shared with dad over these year"s.....Be missing you DAD...I know close to all of our heart's you will be watching over all of us....Always, Loved You Dad! Aunt Sue and all the family I am saddened to hear about Uncle Sonny's passing. I've always admired him as a strong, hard working, good hearted man who like my only brother Kevin had to put up with 5 sisters :) but he was always a good Uncle to me. I loved him and want you to know he is safe in Gods kingdom, no more pain or suffering now. Remember to take care of our loved ones here..now. We are never guaranteed a tomorrow. Godspeed Sonny on your final journey home.... You will be missed but never forgotten... You've been a part of my family since I was a young teen!! So many memories, fun time bbq'ing.... It was an honor to have Sonny in my life. His wit, smile, and sense of humor was a delight and an ongoing characteristic no matter if he was in pain or sick. Sue and Sonny are an inspiration, and model of how to live with love, humor, and integrity, Molly James
