Obituary

Alicia “Alice” Amodeo, born on April 30, 1941, in Edcouch, Texas, passed away peacefully in Livonia, Michigan on February 26, 2025, at the age of 83.

Alice was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister who cherished every moment spent with her family.  She found immense joy in being an “Abuela” to her beloved grandchildren, and her nurturing spirit will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Alice was also known for her role as the “Avon Lady” where her vibrant personality and kindness left a lasting impression on everyone she met.

In her leisure time, Alice enjoyed the thrill of visiting casinos, especially playing the slot machines. She loved watching television, which included her soap operas, random reality tv shows and Detroit Tigers and Red Wings games.  She also had a creative touch and a keen eye for detail, which she expressed through her passion for crocheting and sewing.

Alice is preceded in death by her father, Jose de la Luz Melendez; her mother, Carolina Longoria; and her siblings, Maria Mercedes, Jose de la Luz Jr. “Joe”, Maria Enedina “Noni”, Maria Elena “Mary”, and Manuel.

She is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Thomas Amodeo; her loving children, Saundra Dudek, Anthony (Denise) Amodeo, Catherine Clipper, Carolina Amodeo, and G. Thomas Amodeo; her cherished grandchildren, Rachel, Samantha, Stephanie, Dale, Isabel, Alphonse, and Emily (Mike); and her great-grandchild, Jackson.  She is also survived by her siblings: Jesus Melendez, Carolina Keylon, Francisco Melendez, Oralia (Nikolas) Mastrangelo, and Gloria (Tom) Dargan.

Alice’s warmth, love and generosity touched the lives of many, and her memory will forever be treasured by her family and friends.

Condolences
