Barbara Ruth Armstrong was born Barbara Ruth Aten on September 22nd, 1942 in East St. Louis, Illinois to John Arthur and Barbara Rose Aten. She was a registered nurse and worked as a pediatric nurse for 21 years in Trenton, Michigan, before moving in 1985 to Henderson, Kentucky, where she would work many more years in the same profession. Barbara loved spending time with her dogs, reading, knitting, crocheting and cross-stitching. You would often find her with a fabric bag that held a book she was reading and a project or two she was working on. She loved her family and her friends well. She was a great listener and would often send a card or a little note to those she knew needed some encouragement. She loved music and was proficient in both the piano and flute. She also liked to sing. She used these talents to minister to her church, and continued to do so until a few weeks before she passed away on October 2nd, 2017. Her life was marked by her love for her family, her friends, but most importantly by her love for her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
