Obituary

Frank Lee Adams, age 89, was embraced by the love of his children as he began his new life in spirit on March 06, 2025.

Frank was the son of Frank Michael Adams and Helen Oterson and brother of Paul James Adams. He was born and raised in Dearborn, Michigan and as a boy he loved to swim and dive competitively, fish, camp, grow vegetables and play baseball with his best friends who remained close for over 75 years.

Frank graduated from Fordson High School in 1954, he joined the Army in 1958 and was stationed in Germany. He became a signal specialist for aviation radio communication equipment of military aircraft and was awarded Soldier of the Year by his brigade followed by promotion to Sargeant. When he returned to Dearborn he remained an Army Reservist. Frank took a job as a blueprint operator at Ford Motor Company unaware he was beginning his career, he retired 40 years later a senior executive.

At Ford he met Joy, his future wife of 64 years, they moved downriver and remained there as they became parents of 6 children, Lea Ann (Steven) Chowen, Lisa Adams, Lori (Tony Diorio) Adams, Lynn (Fred) Pischke, Frank Michael Adams II and Lani (Vince) Weslow. Frank and Joy were the proud Papa and Nana of 28 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.

His retirement years were spent with wonderful friends and family members and lots of golf, traveling, fishing cooking, gardening and his favorite...coney island hotdogs (chili, mustard, onion) and hundreds of dill pickles. He was a mentor, confidant, and quite the hero for many, and he taught through his example.

His words of wisdom “Keep the Faith Baby”.

Condolences

  • Frank was a wonderful cousin; kind, generous, friendly and fun. He will be deeply missed. Sending love and prayers to his children and all who loved him. Mary Ellen Klein
  • Uncle Frank was/is my Godfather. He along with Aunt Joyce were two of the most wonderful and beautiful people I have known. Their kindness, warmth, love, sense of humor, and good cheer were legendary. My cup of memories overflows with love and laughter. I am confident that Uncle Frank is dancing in heaven with Aunt Joyce. And I am certain, that Frank and Carl are laughing at their Army stories, having a glass of heavenly beer, and talking about how lucky they are to have married such beautiful women! God has blessed us with their presence...it is not goodbye, but truly, in faith, until we meet again. Tom Cinzori
