Obituary

ALL, Judith Lynn, age 68, of Brownstown, June 28, 2020. Beloved wife of Thomas. Loving mother of Kristen (Steve) Chernenkoff. Cherished grandmother of Alexander Chernenkoff. She was the loving sister of David (Judy) Armstrong. She is survived by several nieces and nephews. Judith is preceded in death by her parents, Graham and Lois as well as her brother, Gerald Armstrong. Judith will forever be remembered for her love of music. In both high school and college, she was a vocal music major and was a member of the Cass Tech Madrigals and Choir as well as the Wayne State University Chamber Singers. Ever since she was a little girl, she played multiple instruments but truly enjoyed playing the piano and mandolin. She was an active member in her church choir for over 30 years. Aside from her love for the arts, she loved her family dearly and her most precious pastime would be to get together frequently. All who knew Judith will miss her dearly. The family requests that if you plan on attending the visitations and services, that you please wear a mask and follow the social distancing protocols.

Condolences

  • We are sending much love and support to Tom, Kristen, Steven, Dave, Judy and your families in your time of loss. We hope that you are able to spend time together and think of happier times. We have so many happy memories of Judy and Tom coming to the family reunions back in the day. It was always more special when the American side of the family started arriving at the park. As a young person, I always watched for Judy to arrive and could not wait to hear about her year at school. Later, we saw that Judy and Tom were blessed with many happy years and companionship as a couple, and the sun rose and set on Kristen and her many accomplishments. Judy had some of Grandma Armstrong's (Beryl's) gifts - her smile, her laugh, and her love of music. Oh yes, those Sunday afternoons around the piano on Harvey Street and the hymn sings! We were all so blessed and strengthened by these times. Love from Lorayne, Gavin and family. Lorayne Robertson
  • Dear Tom, Kristen and family, Some of my favorite memories from my childhood were at your house! I had so much fun playing in the basement and eating the famous banana/peanut butter sandwiches lol Judy was always singing and playing her instruments in the family room and her voice was always so beautiful. I really had a great childhood being a part of your family and I will miss and always think fondly of Judy!! She’s singing right now her heavenly voice in the most beautiful choir ever. Love you all. -Bethany Zeigler (Gomez) Bethany Zeigler (Gomez)

  • Judy was a dear cousin. I will always cherish the times sitting around the piano at Grandma and Grandpa Armstrong’s while Judy played and sang so beautifully. Grandpa’s nickname for her was “The Moosican”, an homage to Judy’s love of music and her musical talent. Sincere condolences to Tom, Kristen, cousin David and all of their families. With love and affection, Alan Young & Family Alan Young
