  • Ken - I've literally known you my whole life. You're my second brother. You taught me how to throw a baseball and football. We were blessed to share and see all the important moments in each other's lives together. You brought me to Hope Baptist Church over Easter when I was 10 when I first accepted Christ into my life, a decision that laid the foundation for my next 40+ years. I've proudly watched as you married Beth, had each of your 3 kids, and then became a grandpa. Your love for your the Lord, your family, sports, and of course the Michigan Wolverines are all things that I value and emulate. I know you're home with the Lord now, and we will see you again some day, but until then you will be greatly missed... Our love and sincere condolences to your family you've left behind. Al, Jen, Abbey, Jon, & Josh Harrah

  • We are so sorry for the loss of Ken. We have fond memories of the many Sunday evenings spent in community group at your home, and were very fond of Ken and always felt so welcome there and enjoyed our times together. We love you Beth, and continue to pray for you and your family. I know Jeremie really enjoyed his Sunday morning chats with Ken, and his friendship was always appreciated. I've learned more about the quality of Ken's character since his passing, and have been touched to learn what a loving husband, father and grandfather he was. It is the testimony of a life well lived, and his Godly influence continues to resonate in the lives of those who knew him. Prayers for your peace and comfort will continue. Jill Moore
  • For us, it's still hard to piece together, so we can only imagine how all of you are doing. It's been so many years ago since we were all together at Hope, and yet I can visit my memory bank and it's all so real: mannerisms, laughter, silliness, etc. Our heart aches for your aches. We are praying for you and praising God with you for Ken's new home in heaven. Tim and Diane Bilbrey

  • My condolences to the family. I worked pretty closely with Ken at Ford Van Dyke Plant for the last three and a half years. I felt a special bond with him that most didn't see and am going to miss the heck out of him. I am happy to have known him for the short time I did. May God bless Ken and help the family and friends through this sad and difficult time. Russell Cardle

  • O, our beloved Ken Akers. We miss you! Thank you for all you did here. I sat in church many years as I watched from a distance the love you had for your wife Beth. Silently amazed. Thank you for loving her! And I know God will hold and carry her now. I missed you guys when I heard you had gone to Florida and wouldn’t be serving in children’s ministry anymore but I knew God had other plans for you both but didn’t know it would be this. I know God works all things to the good and HIS glory but the loss is so great of you! I’m sorry Beth and Maddison and family for your loss. I pray. Thank you for letting me share in this time, Your sister in Christ Jesus-Tamara Baldwin Tamara Baldwin
