Obituary
Richard “Rick” Cornell Arzadon N8XI, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, passed away on October 21, 2025, in Dearborn, Michigan, at the age of 83. Born on June 14, 1942, in Wayne, Michigan, Rick lived a life full of dedication, love, and inspiration.
Rick's journey was marked by his dedication to his work as a computer analyst for AT&T, where he contributed his skills and expertise with unwavering commitment. However, it was his hobbies and interests that truly defined him. From a young age, Rick was captivated by the world of ham radio, a passion that led him to become a proud member of the American Radio Relay League (AARL). His call sign, N8XI, was well-known among fellow enthusiasts, and he cherished the friendships he made through this vibrant community.
In his twenties, Rick found freedom on the open road, riding his Harley with the wind in his hair and a spirit of adventure in his heart. He also loved camping, finding peace and joy in the great outdoors. Rick was a sociable soul, always surrounded by friends who appreciated his warmth and humor.
Rick was also a member of the Livonia Astronomy Club, where he marveled at the wonders of the universe, and participated in several metal detection clubs, always eager to uncover hidden treasures.
He is preceded in death by his beloved son, Mark Arzadon; daughter, Dawn Johnston; parents, Cornelio and Dolores Arzadon; long-time best friend, Ronald Crandall; and brother-in-law, Dick Wertz.
Rick leaves behind his devoted wife of 38 years, Dena Arzadon, with whom he shared 42 wonderful years. He is survived by his children: Kim Zolotcov, Carolyn Giordano, Liam (Melissa) Hughes, Keith Arzadon, Krystal (River) Arzadon, and Helen Arzadon. His legacy continues through his grandchildren: Eric Zolotcov, Ashly Giordano, Alesha Giordano, Alexis Giordano, Kevin Johnston, Koyan Hughes, and Adelaide Hughes, as well as his great-grandchildren: Sapphire, Payton, Anthony, Brooke, Dominic, Kingston, and Emma.
Rick’s siblings, Gloria (John) Tucker, Maria Wertz, and Alicia (Ken) Bryant; brothers, Robert (Kathy) Arzadon and Edward (Gloria) Arzadon, along with numerous family members and friend, will forever hold his memory close.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, October 25, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Michigan Memorial Funeral Home, followed by a service at 2:00 PM. Interment will take place at Michigan Memorial Park.
