Obituary

Richard Robert Ayotte, born on July 28, 1956, passed away on August 6, 2024, at the age of 68. A native of Detroit, Richard brought warmth and light to those around him throughout his life.

Richard had a love for travel, particularly to southern destinations, where he could embrace the beauty and culture of new places. His wonderlust spirit was boundless, and he took great joy in exploring the world around him. Richard also found peace and contentment in flower gardening, nurturing his plants with care and dedication, much like he did with his relationships.

He was preceded in death by his beloved spouse, Clara, and his parents, Joseph and Lorraine Ayotte. Their memories remain cherished in the hearts of those who knew them.

Richard is survived by his son, Richard Ayotte, and his daughter, Laura Connolly, along with her husband, Robert. He leaves behind two adored grandchildren, Dexter Connolly and Ethan Ayotte, who brought immense joy to his life. He is also survived by his brother, Ronald Ayotte, and sister-in-law, Vickie Ayotte.

Richard's legacy of love, adventure, and nurturing care will forever be remembered by his family and friends.

  • Words cannot express the loss that I am feeling Rich truly was like an older brother to me. We were very close and we talked a lot about everything. It’s so hard to say goodbye when you’re taken by surprise, especially but I will always carry a piece of Him in my heart, he was one of the most positive people I ever met and always saw the glass half full . He has been with me my entire life and it seems very strange that I’m going to go through the rest of my life without him But I find comfort in knowing that he’s with the Lord and someday I will be back with him listening to that wonderful laugh that put a smile on everybody’s faces rest in peace, my darling cousin until we meet again Suzanne Zabel
