Anna Dorothy Brewer, born on August 19, 1930, in Detroit, Michigan, passed away peacefully on May 24, 2025, at the age of 94. Anna was a cherished daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother whose warmth and kindness left a lasting impression on all who knew her.
After graduating high school, Anna embarked on a long and fulfilling career as a bank teller with the National Bank of Detroit. Her dedication and professionalism were admired by both colleagues and customers alike. Upon retiring from the bank, Anna took on a new role as a security guard, where she continued to demonstrate her unwavering work ethic.
Anna had a zest for life that was evident in her many passions. In her leisure time, she loved traveling to various casinos, where she delighted in the excitement of playing slot machines. A talented cook, she was renowned for her delicious spaghetti and antipasto dishes, which were always a hit at the holidays she loved to host. Her home was a place of warmth and joy, filled with laughter and the aroma of Italian cooking. Anna also cherished her faith and worked as a usher and baptismal aide at St. Mary's Parish in Wayne.
She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Pietro and Emilia Bonanni; her devoted husband, Burl Brewer; her son, Richard Brewer; her son in law Everett McLinden Jr. and her sisters Antoinette Marzicola, Olga Byrd, and Mary Papkie.
Anna is survived by her loving children, Kevin Brewer (Nancy) and Merry McLinden; her grandchildren Kristen Gazdecki, Melissa Derosia (Steve), Ashley Howes (Tim), Kelsey Brewer (Jake Bernat), Kevin, Emily Cerka (John), Everett McLinden III (Sam), William McLinden (Liz), and Erica McLinden (William Bradley); and her great-grandchildren Luke, Leah, Ethan, Molly, Natalie, Kyle, Ann, Abbe, Alex, Anthony, and Odessa. She also leaves behind two cherished great-great-grandchildren, Colton and Elyna.
