Obituary
Barbara Ann Brewer, a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and cherished friend, passed away on December 19, 2024, in Belleville, Michigan, at the age of 82. Born on September 26, 1942, in Alabama, Barbara lived a life filled with love, dedication, and joy.
Barbara spent her career working in food service for Taylor Public Schools, where she was known for warm smile and kid heart. Beyond her professional life, Barbara was a woman of many passions. She found immense joy in spending time with her family, particularly her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were the light of her life. Her love for quilting was well-known, leaving behind cherished memories stitched into every piece.
Barbara was a vibrant member of her community, actively participating in the Red Hat Society and The Order of The Eastern Star. Her passion for capturing life's moments led her to join a photography club, where she shared her love for the art with fellow enthusiasts. Her faith was a cornerstone of her life, and she was deeply involved in her church, St. Paul United Church of Christ in Taylor, Michigan.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James Brewer, Sr., whose memory she cherished dearly.
Barbara leaves behind a loving family who will continue to honor her legacy: her two sons, Jim (Nicole) Brewer and Shawn (Michelle) Brewer, Jr.; eight grandchildren, Shayna (Ed), Nick, Ashleigh, Kyle, Shawn Jr. (Kira), Hunter (Jessie), Emilee (Kenny), and Lucas (Sydney); and fourteen great-grandchildren, who will carry forward her spirit and love.
