Obituary

Carol Francis Brewer, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on April 1, 2026, in Brownstown, Michigan, at the age of 84. Born on November 24, 1941, in Wyandotte, Michigan, Carol lived a life filled with love, laughter, and dedication to her family.

Carol was a devoted homemaker who found joy in nurturing her family and home. She was known for her warmth, humor, and wit, which brought smiles to those around her. She loved tending to her garden and taking pride in the beauty she created.

A loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Carol cherished the time spent with her family. She took great pleasure in assisting her grandchildren with their homework, especially spelling, and was always there for them. Her culinary skills were renowned among family and friends, with her German potato salad, cucumber and onion salad, and lemon cake being particular favorites at gatherings.

Carol shared a deep bond with her late husband, Anthony Lee Brewer, with whom she enjoyed 44 wonderful years of marriage. Together, they created cherished memories at their cabin in Irish Hills, where they relished the tranquility of nature, pontoon rides, and evenings by the campfire.

Preceded in death by her husband Anthony, daughter Diane Brewer, and sister Mary Ann Wood, Carol leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion. She is survived by her daughter Allison Ketterer and son Mark (Tammy) Brewer. Her memory will be cherished by her six grandchildren: Lindsey (Mike) Blackwell, Ryan (Gary) Ketterer, Brittney (Colorado) Bang, Joseph (Amanda) Brewer, Madison (Nick) McNamara, and AnnMarie Brewer; and eight great-grandchildren: Michael Jr., Calli, Emily, Sophia, Addison, Olivia, Colorado Jr., and Ryker. She is also survived by her brother Michael (Colleen) Majerle, as well as extended family members.

Family is invited to pay their respects at a visitation on Monday, April 6, 2026, from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Michigan Memorial Funeral Home, followed by a service at 3:00 PM. Carol will be laid to rest at Michigan Memorial Park, where she will be lovingly remembered by all who knew her.

Carol's life was a testament to the power of love, family, and the simple joys of life. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
