Obituary

Christopher Bruce Buhl, affectionately known to many as "Skid," passed away on September 12, 2024, at the age of 45 in Cleveland, Ohio. Born on February 15, 1979, in Lincoln Park, Michigan, Skid's presence was nothing short of magnetic, leaving a lasting impression wherever he went.

Skid had a deep passion for Harley motorcycles and classic cars, owning two motorcycles and a treasured Black Cherry '67 Blown Pro Streeted Camaro. His love for hot rods was evident to all who knew him. As a proud member of the Joker’s Motorcycle Club, his life was filled with camaraderie, joy, and adventure. He cherished every moment spent on motorcycle rides with his beloved wife Rachel, enjoying charity rides, club rides, and vacations throughout Michigan with her. Skid's radiant smile, great sense of humor, and caring nature made him loved by everyone, whether they were long-time friends or new acquaintances. Skid and Rachel loved throwing large gatherings and he was certainly the life of the party.

He found immense joy in being outside, basking in the heat and sun, and relished every opportunity to dine out. Diego, his furbaby, was his loyal companion and best buddy, sharing countless moments of happiness together. Skid's zest for life and protective spirit endeared him to all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Preceded in death by his grandparents, Skid is survived by his loving family: his devoted wife and best friend of 15 years Rachel Buhl, his parents Bruce and Diane Buhl, his brother Steven Buhl, and his nephews Seth, Kolyn, and Ronald. His furbaby Diego will also remember him fondly. In his final act of generosity, Skid donated his kidneys and heart valves to save babies, a testament to his selfless and loving nature.

Skid's legacy of warmth, laughter, and unwavering friendship will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. Every time Rachel feels the sun on her face, she will think of her dear husband, whose light and love continue to shine brightly. His cremation will take place at “The Witness Crematory” located inside of Michigan Memorial Funeral Home.

Condolences

  • Skid was a joy to be around. Bill loved and laughed many nights with him. Your memory and gift of humor will be shared with R.W. He will know how much his uncle loved him. My heart is with Rachel and my prayers. phyllis mccandless
  • I worked with Chris since day one when we worked together at the Sizer in the Casters at USS. He was a rebel, a good friend, a person who enjoyed all of the parties. He loved his wife, moonshine, cars, motorcycles and Jokers Club. He will be deeply missed! Stephanie Pruitt
