Obituary

Christopher Paul Berthlett, born on September 22, 1973 in Monroe, has passed away on September 24, 2024 in the comfort of his own home at the age of 51. He will be remembered for his love of fishing, kayaking, camping, skydiving, and cooking. Christopher had a special affinity for the color purple and cherished his furbabies deeply.

Christopher was preceded in death by his beloved daughter Kaitlyn Rae, his father Harold Berthlett, and his sister Marquise Osiecki.

He leaves behind a loving family who will forever hold him in their hearts. This includes his devoted wife Jennifer Berthlett, his children Michael (Faith) Chavis, Ashleigh (Kara) Chavis, and Jacobe Chavis, and his mother Sandra Massarant. He is also survived by his siblings Danielle (Thierry) Belin and Harold (Nina) Berthlett, Jr., as well as his sisters-in-law Christine Rozmiarek and Michelle (Chris) Keller.

His nephews and nieces—Breanna Ervin, Eric Ervin, Brooke Berthlett, Emily, Christopher, and Justyn Kohler, Kyle Rozmiarek, and Karsun Rozmiarek—will miss him dearly. Great-nieces and great-nephews Addilynn, Dalila, and Bentley will grow up hearing stories about their wonderful great-uncle.

Christopher's adventurous spirit, dedication to family, and the joy he took in simple pleasures will be his enduring legacy to those who knew and loved him.

In memory of Christopher, please wear his favorite color dark purple.

  • Chris came into my life when I was 9 years old, as my younger brother. During a young girls' life there is a time when they want to nurture and care for something or someone. I had a human being. He was always my little brother. I remember all of the good times kayaking, canoeing, swimming, and playing. He liked camping and one summer we all made up nicknames and painted them on a board. His nickname became fire starter because he was the best fire builder. I remember all of the smores that we ate during those fires and the talks that we had. Good times! Feel the feelings, remember the good times, and live your life while you can. Love you Danielle and Thierry Belin Danielle and Thierry Belin
  • Chris & I met late 80’s as kids he’s a bit older as i was in the same grade as his wife Jennifer, but we lived in the same trailer park and the park was directly behind all of our homes. We all grew together. Chris & I remained friends through school & onto adults. We have shared so many memories. Some unforgettable ones. Chris is unforgettable. His smile was contagious, he was funny, caring, mean when he needed to be lol he was just cool all the way around. I pray Heaven is everything you could ever imagine buddy. See ya when I get there. Much love my dude. Prayers and condolences to his family and all who loved him. Rest Easy my friend. Christina (LeFevre) Willis
