David William Branham, Age 72 of Brownstown, MI. Born September 4, 1949 in Wyandotte, MI. Passed away July 21, 2022. David is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Marcella Branham (née Spryszak), sister, Sue Carol Boyd of Virginia, and several nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents, Vernon and Ida Branham. David was drafted into the US Army in 1969 and served as a combat infantryman in Vietnam. Honorably discharged as a SP4 in 1971, David went on to graduate from the Detroit Police Academy that same year and began an impressive 49 year career as a Detroit Police Officer. Promoted to Sergeant in 1995, David concluded his distinguished Detroit Police career stationed out of the 12th Precinct when he retired in 2020.
In lieu of flowers, donations in David’s memory may be made to the Detroit Police Athletic League.
