Obituary

Dewey Bryant, aged 83, passed away peacefully on July 4, 2025, in Dearborn, Michigan. Born on May 8, 1942, in Virgie, Kentucky, he was a cherished husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend.

Dewey was a man of abundant energy and good humor. He delighted in life's simple pleasures, evenings spent thoroughly enjoying resting his eyes in his favorite chair, shooting pool, bowling, and playing euchre with family and friends. Dewey was a spirited outdoor enthusiast who felt at home camping at Belleville Lake, where he created many fond memories with his loved ones. Known for his lively personality, Dewey had a penchant for playfully instigating fun through practical jokes and light-hearted antics, bringing joy and laughter to every gathering.

For 53 years, Dewey shared a profound and enduring love with his beloved wife, Carol Bryant. Together, they built a loving family who cherished Dewey and will continue to honor his legacy. He is survived by his devoted wife Carol; his children, Melinda (Chris), Amanda (Jason), Lisa, Dewey, Rodney, Corey (Stephanie), and Perrey (Kristine); and his sister Justine (Miles) Prater. A proud grandfather and great-grandfather, Dewey's legacy lives on through his numerous descendants. Among those who will miss him greatly are his treasured furbabies, Cranberry, Misty, and Sissy.

Dewey was preceded in death by his daughter, Belinda Bryant, his parents, Alfred and Nellie Bryant, and ten siblings. His warmth and kindness left an indelible mark on everyone he met, and he will be remembered fondly for his big-hearted nature and zest for life.

In remembrance of a life well-lived, Dewey's tales of joy, love, and laughter will forever remain in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him.
