BRADDOM, Edward W.., age 76. Born in Kentucky in 1944, long time resident of Lincoln Park, Edward went to be with his Lord and Savior on January 26, 2021. He graduated from Lincoln Park High School and then served 2 years in the Army. Edward then went to work for the C&O/B&O railroad where he spent 40 years working as a brakeman and safety officer. Edward is preceded in death by his parents, Edward Isaac Braddom and Frances Braddom (Vann), and his brother Kenneth Roberts. He is survived by his sisters, Evelyn Devlin and Jean Martinez (Louis) and his aunt Wanda Martinez (Vann). He will be missed by his nieces and nephews, Donna (Brian), Robert (Tim), Beth (Jim), Michael (Viviana). He will remain in the hearts of his grand nieces and nephews, Richard (Natalie), Chris (Sara), Joshua, Connor, Penélope and Anja. While working at the railroad he made many lifelong friends. In the last years, Edward made new friends among the residents and staff (his many (‘punkins’) at the Brownstown Forest View Assisted Living community, including his special new friend Murphy the Cat. Edward (Wayne) will always be remembered for his generosity and his love of telling a story. His excitement at Christmas when giving gifts would always light up his face with pure joy. He loved riding his motorcycles and going to car shows and races. He spent many mornings drinking coffee at his favorite White Castle or Dunkin Donuts enjoying the company of his friends. Our special thanks to his doctors, nurses and the staff at Forest View for their loving care in helping him maintain a happy and quality filled life. We are also grateful for the Hospice nurses who cared for him in his last hours. A big thank you to Tom Dillon for being a loving friend and taking Edward to his many appointments. He will be interred at Michigan Memorial Park at a private service at a later date. His cremation will take place at “The Witness Crematory” located inside of Michigan Memorial Funeral Home.
