Obituary

We are heartbroken to announce that Frederick Paul Butt, known to most as “Fred” or “Freddy”, unexpectedly passed away on June 19th, 2023 at his home in Bee Cave, Texas. He was a caring, dedicated, and one-of-a-kind man who will be deeply missed.

As a child, Fred grew up in New Boston, MI and attended St. Stephen’s Elementary school. He was an active kid who loved to ride dirt bikes, play sports, and get into any mischief he could find. At an early age, Fred discovered a passion for wrestling. This passion carried with him and he became an accomplished wrestler at Monroe Catholic Central High School. He wrestled at the collegiate level for one year at Northern Michigan University, until he realized that he was not cut out for the rigid winter in the U.P. Fred transferred to Michigan State University where he earned both an undergraduate and a M.B.A. in Professional Accounting.

Fred met the love of his life, Michele, at the Wooly Bully Bar in Northville. From the beginning, he loved Michele unconditionally. They married and shared a family of four beautiful daughters, Lindsay, Courtney, Carly, and Mallory, and their furry son, Elliott. He worked as a Chief Accounting Officer at Christopher Investment Company for 26 years. In his spare time he loved to be with his family, golf, watch history documentaries, indulge in a scoop of ice cream, enjoy the F1 race on Sundays, and support college football (Go Blue!- Despite his Michigan State Alum status).

He was preceded in death by grandparents Mary Ann and Christopher Maciolek and Ena Faye and Albert Butt. He is survived by his Mother, Suzanne Maciolek, Father, Kenneth Butt, Sister, Valerie Pitsch, Brother, Marc Butt, Wife, Michele Butt, Daughters, Lindsay McClune, Courtney Kren, Carly Butt, Mallory Butt, grandchildren, Sawyer Dae and Luke, and multiple nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to The Arc of Northwest Wayne County ( https://secure.qgiv.com/for/taonwc/ ) or
