Obituary

Irene Louise Bock, of Southgate, Michigan, born on November 11, 1934, in Detroit, passed away on January 28, 2026, in Wyandotte, Michigan, at the age of 91.
Irene was a joyful and generous spirit who found immense delight in her family and sharing her Hungarian heritage and homemade zucchini bread. Much of her focus was spent fostering family bonds, keeping connected with family and friends across the country and reveling in the generations expand around her.
Irene also enjoyed gardening and exploring new places through travel both recreationally and professionally. During her career as an executive secretary, she coordinated and executed conferences locally and nationally with great precision and detail. This carried over throughout her life with personalized notes and trinkets shared at any occasion she could acknowledge.

She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Louis and Julia Bock, her sisters Emma Jones, Betty Walkowski, and Julia Pack, her brothers Joe and Lou Bock, and her cherished niece and nephews Carol DeMaggio, Diane Bock, Wally and Gary Pack. Left to treasure her memory are her nieces and nephews Larry Jones, Keith, Roger, and Janet Bock, Karen Reaves, Linda Nieckarz, Susan Mitchell, Tim and Darrin Pack and many great- and great-great-grand nieces and nephews. Her presence will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Irene's warmth and kindness touched the lives of many, and her quiet strength and loving spirit will be remembered affectionately by her family and friends. She also leaves behind best friend and neighbor of over 50 years, Fred Bobier of Southgate.
May she rest in peace. Nyugodjék békében. Jobban szeretlek. Love you more.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or to an organization of your choosing.

Condolences

  • While Aunt Irene as she was affectionately known to us, may not have had children, grandchildren, or great grandchildren of her own, she was received with as much love as a mother, grandmother, or great grandmother. Your love of family was ever so evident. Thank you Irene for all your love & support through the years to the Barli family. You were one of us. We will be together again to share our love forever with one another & our Savior. Karen Barli
