Obituary

Janet Ann Beven, née King, entered this world on December 29, 1933, in Lincoln Park, Michigan, and departed peacefully from it on April 11, 2025, in Gibraltar, Michigan, at the age of 91.

Janet's life was a vibrant tapestry woven with love, family, and cherished pastimes. She had an enduring passion for dance, which brought joy to her life and those around her. A gifted baker, her home was often filled with the warm aroma of freshly baked bread, lovingly prepared for family and friends. In her younger years, Janet and her beloved husband shared a creative partnership, crafting floral arrangements and engaging in painting, gardening, and landscaping projects together. She also spent 30 years in banking at a job she cherished.

Janet met her devoted husband, Frank Beven, on a blind date, and their whirlwind romance led to marriage just three months later. Their union spanned seven decades, a testament to their profound love and commitment. Her heart was full in the company of her family, with whom she spent countless hours creating memories. She took immense joy in her role as a matriarch, especially relishing time with her great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Frank Beven; her parents, Herbert and Angela King; her grandson, Anthony Beven; and her siblings, Joan and Richard.

Janet leaves behind a legacy of love through her surviving family: her children, Frank (Mary) Beven, Michele McDougal, Nicole (Frank) LaBeau, and John David Beven; her cherished grandchildren, Alana (Jesse), Jesse (Chantal), Tyler, Aaron, Colin (Madi), Jacob, Amanda, and Mina; and her adored great-grandchildren, Alexis, Chayla, David, Tristan, Winston, Evelyn, and Oakley. She is also survived by her siblings, Alice, Peg (Paul), Trudy, Beana, and John.

Though Janet has left this earthly realm, her spirit endures in the hearts of those she touched with her warmth, creativity, and love.

In memory of Janet donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
