Obituary

Jeri Ruth Bell died February 1, 2018 at the age of 90 while battling gastric cancer. She was known by all for her beautiful smile and contagious laugh. With her departure, our world now has a little less laughter but Heaven has gained a beautiful soul to join their heavenly choir. Jeri was born in McAlester, Oklahoma on August 11th, 1927. She was preceded in death by her parents Addison Leonard and Era Ruth McDonald, her siblings Vera Foose, Leon McDonald, Roswell McDonald, Lorraine Shackelford, Royal McDonald, and Aletha Blair. Her life centered around her family, friends and faith. She was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church of Trenton. She demonstrated her deep compassion for others by her 30+ years as an Arbor Hospice volunteer. Jeri also had a deep love for music and art. Jeri was a devoted wife to Gus Bell who preceded her in death in 1986. She was a loving mother of three daughters; Susan Ruth Howard, Tobi Mizell Britsch and Lori Bell Shuk, a grandmother to seven; Heidi Lynn Ritzrow, Jeremiah David Paul Lockwood, Sarah Rebekah Bommarito, Aaron Michael Lockwood, Tammy Marie Lusby, Joshua Seth Lockwood and Zachary Thomas Howard, and a great-grandmother to eight; Alyssa Lorynn Ritzrow, Alec Aaron Ritzrow, Emma Lynn Ritzrow, Jackson Riley Hall, Madison Jane Lockwood, Camden Elizabeth Lockwood, Isabella Ann Bommarito, and Joshua James Lusby. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Bless This Child Ministries; blessthischildministries.com.

  • Dear Susan, Tobi and Lori, Our deepest condolences to you. We were saddened to learn of the loss of your Mom, Jeri. But, are thrilled she has a new, heavenly body and is rejoicing with the angels! She blest us with her “contagious” love, joy and laughter. Special hugs, prayers and love, Wayne, Viv & Family Wayne & Vivian Denniston & Family
  • Aunt Jeri was a beautiful and generous woman. Every small moment you got with her was special. All of her stories and experiences were something you wished to hear about, even if you heard them before. We will miss her like crazy, but we know she's right where she wanted to be. Riana and Michelle Estep
  • I will never forget your Mom. She was and is a great person. I hope you find the strength needed to continue. She is enjoying your dad's company now and looking over you still. You will meet again when the Lord comes. Until then all my best wishes and condolences to you and yours. She was truly one of a kind and heaven is a better place now. Chris Hopkins
