Obituary

Margaret Inez Blankenbeckley, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and cherished friend, passed away peacefully on February 6, 2025, in Trenton, Michigan. Born on August 9, 1932, in Detroit, Michigan, Margaret lived a life full of love, faith, and devotion to her family, reaching the age of 92.

Margaret was known for her warm heart and generous spirit. A devout Christian, she ensured her home was filled with love and laughter, making sure her children knew the importance of faith by attending church regularly. Family was at the core of her being, and Sundays were always reserved for gatherings at her home.

Her passion for bingo was well-known, as was her adventurous spirit when it came to travel. Her world tours were simple but meaningful, consisting of visits to her son in Florida, her granddaughter in Texas, and her brothers in California. Each trip was a testament to her love and commitment to family ties.

Margaret's culinary skills were legendary, especially her famous carrot cake, which became a staple at family events. Her talent shone particularly during the Christmas season when her home transformed into a haven for gingerbread boy-making contests, a tradition she held dear. The categories of the ugliest and the prettiest gingerbread boys added laughter and joy to the festive season.

Preceded in death by her husband, Charles Blankenbeckley, Sr., her son-in-law Amiel Rinne, her siblings John, Ed, Robert, and Rick, and her parents, Pearl White and John Montgomery, Margaret leaves behind a legacy of love and unity.
She is survived by her devoted children: Rosemarie (Jaques) Milano, Marion Rinne, Charles (Peetie) Blankenbeckley, Jr., Carol Jean (Frank) DuGray, and Paul (Karen) Blankenbeckley. Margaret's memory will also be cherished by her grandchildren, Bryan (Jackie), Monica, Jamie (Bart), Alison, Andrea (Patrick), Ashley (Keith), and Beth Ann, as well as her great-grandchild, Jackson.

Margaret Inez Blankenbeckley will be remembered as a loving and giving person who touched the lives of all who knew her. Her unwavering faith and boundless love for her family were the cornerstones of her life, leaving a lasting imprint on all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Condolences

  • I met Mrs. B about 30 years ago when Mandy wanted to go to vacation school with Andrea. She was the first person we met when I checked out the church. That day started a relationship with this family. We were treated like family from that day on. I will miss Mrs. B greatly. I will continue to keep the whole family in my prayers! See you again some day. Love you! Debra Simpson
