Obituary

Marie Alice Burmeister, beloved mother and grandmother, departed this life on July 4, 2024, peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family.  Born in Chetek, Wisconsin October 18, 1938 to Thomas Arthur (deceased) and Ruby Sarah Benoy (deceased).  She was a beloved sister to Clarence Benoy (deceased), Francis Eskritt (deceased) and Bruce Benoy, Loranger, Louisiana.

Marie was a loving and devoted mother to her children Sharri Burmeister, Valorie Johnson (Charles Grima) and Steven Burmeister (Lori).  She was preceded in death by her son Randy Burmeister and daughter Lisa Burmeister.  Marie was also blessed with many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Her early years of motherhood she spent caring for her children.  As her children became older she began her career as a Police Dispatcher, including 15 years of service at the Stevens Point Police Department in Wisconsin.  She forged many lasting friendships through the camaraderie of her colleagues which she fondly carried throughout the remainder of her life.

Marie was a devoted and loving mother, sister, daughter and friend and touched so many lives.  She truly enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren and felt truly blessed for her family.  She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.  We know she is rejoicing in heaven with her loved ones who went before her.
