Obituary

Mary Lou Brock, age 79, peacefully departed this life on March 9, 2025, in Canton, Michigan. Born on July 30, 1945, in Cleveland, Ohio, she lived a life full of love, dedication, and joy.

Mary Lou devoted her professional career to shaping young minds as a public school teacher and educator. Her passion for teaching was evident in her unwavering commitment to nurturing and guiding children, for which she will be fondly remembered by countless students whose lives she touched.

A graduate of Bowling Green, Mary Lou took immense pride in her academic achievements, which laid the foundation for her lifelong vocation in education. She was also a cherished member of Eastern Stars and an active participant in the community at St. Michaels Church, where she found fellowship and spiritual fulfillment.

At the heart of Mary Lou's life was her beloved family. She treasured time spent with them and cherished every moment shared. Alongside her late husband, John C. Brock, she built a loving home filled with laughter and warmth. Together, they enjoyed many adventures, where they created lasting memories.

In her leisure time, Mary Lou found joy in simple pleasures. She adored the ocean, which provided her with peace and inspiration. Playing cards, bowling, and bingo were favorite pastimes, shared often with family and friends. She also delighted in getaways to Las Vegas with John, savoring each adventure together. Her many beloved dogs were her constant companions, offering her unwavering love and comfort.

She is preceded in death by her husband, John C. Brock, and her parents, Paul and Ruth Goebl. Mary Lou leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness, carried forward by her surviving family: daughters Beth (JP) and Christine (Scott), and her beloved grandchildren Wesley Hart, Claire McGuire, Leo Hart, Brandon McGuire, Cam Hart, and brother Paul (Audrey) Goebl Jr.

In remembering Mary Lou, we celebrate a life dedicated to kindness, family, and the pursuit of nurturing future generations. Her spirit will forever shine brightly in the hearts of all who knew her.
