BURNETTE, Maynard N., age 81, of Taylor, January 21, 2022. Beloved husband of Margie Imogene Burnette and brother C.L. Loving dad of Eric (Ronda) Burnette, Chandra (Dan) Tackett, Jayne (Richard) Liptow, Evon (Ken) Sorke, Elmer Burnette and Jim. Dear papaw of Danny (Jamey) Tackett, Lafe Burnette, Tristian Burnette, Alysha (Mario) Martinez, Amanda (Shayne) Wolf, Trisha Liptow, Chelsea Liptow and Cassie Tackett. Dearest great papaw Maynard of Johnathon, Blake, Brayden, Addalyn, Connor, Isaiah, Charlotte and Sophia. Preceded in death by his parents Maynard and Becky Burnette, his siblings Jack, Betty Ann and Mikey and his grandchildren Erika, Jelinda and Kenny. Maynard Nelson Burnette born January 1, 1941 in Frye Georgia. He grew up in Copperhill Tennessee where he graduated high school from Copper Basin High School. He enlisted in the military where he served in the United States Navy for 4 years. A buddy of his introduced him to future wife of 59 years Margie Imogene Goss. They were married on October the 10th 1962. Originally, they were told they would never be able to have children, but they went on to have 5 children, 3 girls and 2 boys. They are Eric, Chandra, Jayne, Evon and Elmer, all who currently reside in Michigan. Maynard moved his entire family to Michigan in the early 70’s and went to work for General Motors UAW local 22 on Clark Street where he retired. He served as a deacon at Spirit Life Center. Maynard was a very loved man, although he was short in stature, he had a heart the size of Texas. He would give you the shirt off of his back and the last dollar in his wallet if someone needed it. Dad you will certainly be missed.
