Norman Ellis Bidwell
Bidwell, Norman E., of Flat Rock, November 8, 2022. Beloved husband of 55 years to Barbara Bidwell. Loving father to Clayton Bidwell, Norman Bidwell II and fur baby Mojo. Dearest grandfather to Barbara and great grandfather to Braden, Morgan and Hazel. He is survived by his siblings Jack (Pat) Bidwell, B Elaine Kahkonen, Lieta (Lu) Lopez and Freda (Peter) Der-Stepanian. He is preceded in death by his parents John and Bessie (Betty) Bidwell, sister Patricia (Walter) Banas and brother-in-law Bill Kahkonen. He had many nieces and nephews. His cremation will take place at “The Witness Crematory” located inside of Michigan Memorial Funeral Home.
Norman worked as a commercial truck mechanic for many years before he began working for General Motors in the transportation department. He later moved to engineering both in Detroit and Milford where he retired in 2008. He enjoyed working on motors of all kinds and he especially enjoyed working on and driving Sand Rails and he built several. He was always helping friends and neighbors fix theirs. After he retired, he was able to enjoy summers at Silver Lake Sand Dunes.
