Obituary

BARNES, Stella C., age 89, formerly of Wyandotte, July 13, 2016. Beloved daughter of the late Stephanie and Peter Kurylo and loving wife of the late Walter Litwinski and Herbert Barnes. She was preceded in death by five of her siblings and survived by three younger sisters. She is survived by her only child, Janice (James) Budzyn and her grandsons Brian (Sara) Budzyn and Mark Budzyn and great grandchildren Talia, Jackson and Natasha Budzyn who were the love of her life. Stella was born in the heyday of Ernest Hemingway’s and F. Scott Fitzgerald’s “lost generation”. In her late teens during World War II, she worked at McCord’s Factory in Wyandotte assembling rockets. Later, she worked at Barney’s Bar on Biddle Avenue. After attending night school, Stella then worked at the Wyandotte News Herald Newspaper retiring in 1980 as Classified Manager with 20 years of service. In 1981, Stella and Herbert relocated to Port Charlotte, Florida to enjoy the sun and retirement life. After her Herbert passed, Stella moved to California in 2006 to be near her daughter and family. Stella loved to entertain and always had an open home to all. Above all, she was an amazing woman with striking blue eyes who loved her entire family. She will be missed dearly by all who knew her. Donations can be sent to Buena Vista Hospice, Inc., 143 Triunfo Canyon Road #103, Westlake Village, CA 91361

  • I'd like to express deep sympathy for loss of your loved one. I hope and pray this message bring comfort and soothe the pain that you are experiencing at this time. What has help me to cope and deal with lost a love one is found God's Word the Bible in Psalms 113:5-8 "Who is like Jehovah our God, The one who dwells on high? 6 He stoops down to look on heaven and earth, 7 Raising the lowly from the dust. He lifts up the poor from the ash heap 8 In order to make him sit with nobles, With nobles of his people." You can find similar comforting verses in the website jw.org. anouch
  • I read with sorrow of Stella's passing. It is so hard to say goodbye to someone so loved; so we will not say goodbye to Stella, just 'see you later'. And until we say hello again, may every loving memory be like the warming rays of sun which help to bring some comfort from your pain and sorrow. May God grant you peace during this difficult time. Philippians 4:7. Heartfelt prayers are with you. Sharon Elaine
