Obituary
Virginia "Jenny" Lee Baker, born on April 17, 1929, in Ashland, Kentucky, passed away on December 17, 2024, in Trenton, Michigan, at the age of 95. Jenny's life was a testament to love, resilience, and joy, touching everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
A devoted homemaker, Jenny dedicated her life to creating a warm and welcoming environment for her family. Her home was always filled with laughter, love, and the comforting aroma of her delicious cooking. She found immense joy in simple pleasures, such as solving jigsaw puzzles, diving into a good book, and watching her favorite game shows.
Jenny was an enthusiastic member of the Wii Bowling League, where she not only showcased her competitive spirit but also formed lasting friendships. Her vibrant personality and infectious laughter made her a beloved figure among her peers.
Preceded in death by her beloved husband, Gene T. Baker; her son, Stephen Baker; her parents, Myrl and Jewell Smith; and two sisters and three brothers.
Jenny is survived by her loving daughters, Debbie (Tom) O'Harris and Jackie (John) Leonard, who carry forward her spirit and values. She cherished her six grandchildren: Phillip (Lisa) Bevins, John Leonard, Jr., Curtis Leonard, Nick (Dani) Baker, Stephanie (Gabe) Houghton, and Samantha Baker. She was also blessed with eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild, each of whom brought her immense joy.
Her sister, Nancy (Wayne) Utz, and dear friend, Kay McMahon, along with many friends, especially those at Gibraltar Manor, will deeply miss her presence. Jenny's extended family in Michigan, Kentucky, and Florida will continue to celebrate her life and the indelible mark she left in their hearts.
