Obituary

Betty Jo Campau, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on December 2, 2025, in Ypsilanti, Michigan, at the age of 88. Born on April 16, 1937, in Wyandotte, Michigan, she lived a life full of creativity, love, and devotion to her family.

Betty was an artist at heart, especially skilled in oil painting, whose creations were cherished by those who knew her. Her talents extended beyond the canvas, as she was an amazing seamstress. Betty had a passion for landscaping and gardening, finding solace and beauty in nurturing nature. Her home was a testament to her creative spirit, as she delighted in remodeling and transforming spaces into reflections of her vibrant personality.

Music was another of Betty's passions. She loved playing both the piano and guitar, filling her home with melodies that brought joy to all who heard them. Her creative spirit was boundless, and she delighted in exploring any artistic endeavor.

Preceded in death by her husband, Harold Campau; sons, William Scott Campau and Harold Michael Campau; and grandson, Colin Johnson, Betty's legacy of love and creativity continues through her surviving family. She leaves behind her daughters, Cheryl (Richard Wowak) Tatreau and Nicole (Ronald) McPherson; her grandchildren, Crystal (Rob), Henry Allen (Amanda), Renee, Michael, Meichal, and Evan; and numerous loving great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Gail, who shared a lifelong bond with her.

Betty will be remembered for her artistic talents, her warm heart, and her unwavering dedication to her family. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her.
