Obituary

CAMPBELL, Diana J., age 72, of Belleville, passed away on June 19, 2020. Beloved wife of Ronald Campbell. Loving mother of Brian (Julie) Campbell and Michael (Kelly) Campbell. Dearest grandmother of Mckenzey, Trevor, Blake and Seth and great-grandmother of Zander and Colton. Dear sister of John Bokon and Jackie Kremhelmer. Diana was born in Ypsilanti, Michigan on June 12, 1948. She graduated from Belleville High School in 1966 and worked for Van Buren Public Schools for over 30 years with her longest tenure being at Haggerty Elementary School. She was known by all as Lady Di. She was married to Ronald Campbell on September 7, 1968. On May 8, 1971 and on May 10, 1974 she welcomed her two handsome boys Brian and Michael. Diana was a founding executive board member of the Belleville Band Boosters. She was the very first Belleville Band Booster secretary and the second person to hold the office of band booster President. Years after leaving office, she remained a proud supporter of the program.Diana enjoyed reading, flowers, crocheting, genealogy and spending time with her family, especially her grandkids. She was a well known cook both for dinners and sweets, especially her Chicken Paprikash and sugar cookies! Diana was a highly organized person who was extremely self-less and would take care of others before herself. She will be dearly missed by many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends, especially her family. She is preceded in death by her parents Louis and Jane Bokon.

Condolences

  • Ron and Family, I was so sorry to hear of the passing of Diana. When I was young, she was always like another older sister to me. Her and my sister Sherry Agge were always together. She was a wonderful person. God Bless you All. Shannon Kratina Shannon Kratina
  • Mike, I am so sorry to hear about your mom. She was there for my family from the first day Jonathan enrolled at Haggerty, 31 years ago. Your mom cared not only for all of my kids while they attended Haggerty but she continued to stay in touch, taking the time to send cards when someone was ill, for a birthday and lately when Candice was going through her chemo treatments. I will always treasure our times together whether we were talking about PTO activities, teaching or her love for the BHS band program. Her smile was infectious and she always took time out to make you feel welcome. She will be greatly missed. Keeping you and your family in my thoughts and prayers. Connie and Jim Testorelli and family Connie Testorelli
