Obituary

Frank Bendia Chirillo, born on January 7, 1945, in Trenton, Michigan, passed away on December 25, 2025, in Newport, Michigan, at the age of 80.

Frank dedicated over 25 years of his life to serving as a police officer in Ecorse, Michigan, where he was known for his unwavering commitment to the community and his steadfast sense of duty.

A man of many passions, Frank found joy in hunting and fishing, pursuits that took him into the great outdoors. He was a skilled craftsman, enjoying working with his hands, whether it was building his cherished house on Mullett Lake or working on his cars. Frank also enjoyed trips to Florida, often traveling in his RV with Marlene, his beloved wife of 62 years, by his side.

Frank dedicated many years to coaching hockey, sharing his love for the sport and mentoring young athletes. His legacy lives on in the countless lives he touched both on and off the ice.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Margaret Chirillo, and his brothers, Patrick, Bob, and Richard.

Frank is survived by his devoted wife, Marlene Chirillo, and their children: Kimberly (Rhett) Wicketts, Frank (Beth) Chirillo III, and Brian Chirillo. He leaves behind a loving legacy in his grandchildren: Corey, Jessa, Ryan, Dakota, Hunter, Madison, and Chloe, as well as his great-grandchildren: Ethan, Kyden, Elena, Harper, and Colt. He is also survived by his siblings: Jim (Carol), Bernice, Nancy (Chuck), and Trudy.

Frank will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
