Gary Lynn Caldwell, born on January 11, 1942, in Pontiac, Michigan, passed away on November 27, 2025, in Taylor, Michigan, at the age of 83.
Gary dedicated his professional life to the chemical industry, where he worked diligently as a material handler. A very active individual, Gary found joy in playing volleyball, softball, tennis, golf, and billiards. His quick wit and whimsical nature endeared him to all who knew him. Always willing to lend a helping hand, Gary was known for his good-heartedness and generosity. He was extremely even-tempered, and it was rare that he even raised his voice.
He is preceded in death by his beloved son, Brian Caldwell; his parents, Carl and Nora [Mead] Caldwell; and his brother, Ronald Caldwell.
Gary leaves behind his devoted wife of 63 years, Jean [Simmons] Caldwell, who stood by his side through life's many adventures. He is also survived by his sons, Kevin Caldwell and Michael (Karen) Caldwell, who carry forward his legacy of kindness and integrity. His grandchildren, Elizabeth, Emily, and Brendan (Julia), will forever cherish the memories of their loving grandfather. He also leaves behind many family members and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date to honor Gary's memory and the profound impact he had on those around him. His family and friends will gather to remember a life well-lived, filled with laughter, love, and unwavering support.
Gary Lynn Caldwell will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
