Obituary

Gregory John Cripe, born on May 9, 1951, in Plymouth, Michigan, peacefully passed away on August 23, 2025, at home with his wife at his side in Dexter, Michigan, at the age of 74. Gregory was the beloved son of the late LeRoy and Marie Cripe.

Gregory dedicated over four decades of his life to his work as a skilled trades welder at Ford Automotive Company, where he was known for his remarkable skill and steadfast work ethic. Beyond his professional life, Gregory was a man of many interests. He was an avid pickleball enthusiast, enjoyed traveling, and took great pride in meticulously manicuring his lawn. A devoted fan of University of Michigan sports, Gregory loved all different sports and cherished spending quality time with his family and friends. He also had a passionate love for his ’66 Corvette.

He was a supportive and devoted husband to his beloved wife, Elizabeth, whom he leaves behind. Gregory is also survived by his loving children, Theresa (Steve) Skonieczny and Ryan (Kerielle Smith) Jackson. He was also a proudly devoted grandfather to Julianne, Jaidyn, Cassius, Brimley, and Jerzie. Gregory will be deeply missed by his siblings, Rob (Karen) Cripe and Pam Love, as well as his nieces and nephews, Danny, Kristy, Brigitte, and Mike.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during visitation on Friday, August 29, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A service to honor Gregory's life will be held on Saturday, August 30, 2025, at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at Michigan Memorial Park.

Gregory's memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

Condolences

  • Beth, I am so sorry for your loss. My thoughts and prayers are with you even though I cannot be at the service. God has another angel now and Greg is probably already playing pickleball with him. Love you Julie Prince
  • Beth I have fond memories of playing ball at the chelsea senior center league with Greg and you. It really brings out the best in all us older kids. We will play on in Gregs honor - his spirit will be kept alive in all of us. Love Johnnie John Porter
