Obituary

It is with sadness in our hearts that we want to inform everyone that our mother (aka Grams) Irene Veronica (Blazek) Cohen passed away last night at about 10:30 PM. She has been in ill health for several years. As I was speaking to my aunt today, I was reminded that G-d has special days for people to die. To die on the Sabbath is reserved for special people. To die on a holiday is reserve for very special people. To die on the Highest of Holy holidays is reserved for the very best people. My mom past on Yom Kippur, the Holiest of all Jewish holiday. I think that says so much about our mom. A loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She supported her family with love, affection, encouragement and always good food. Please pray for our dad, that he can find some comfort that our mom is no longer in pain. COHEN, Irene V., age 81, of Taylor, September 15, 2021. Beloved wife of Howard Cohen. Loving mother of Alan Cohen, Jeffery Cohen, Douglas Cohen, Susan Kochis and Kathleen Pimpedly. Dearest grandmother of Breanna, Aaron, Samantha, Nicholas and Zachary and great-grandmother of Xavier, Bayden, Maverick and Cora. She is also survived by her brother Joseph (the late Dorothy) Blazek and her sister-in-law Molly the wife of the late Ernie Blazek. She was preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Josephine Blazek and her sister and brother-in-law Dorothy and Richard Maffe. Her cremation took place at “The Witness Crematory” located inside of Michigan Memorial Funeral Home.
