Obituary

Geneva “Jenny” Cobb, age 83, passed away peacefully on March 25, 2026. Born on November 30, 1942, in Marion County, Indiana, Jenny was the youngest of four children. She was preceded in death by her beloved elder siblings — brothers Bill Stanfield and Homer Stanfield, and sister Barbara Rogers — all of whom she remembered with great affection throughout her life.

Jenny graduated from Ecorse High School in June 1961. She later dedicated many years to the Southgate School District, working in the cafeteria as a head cook. Her work allowed her to remain close to her children during their school years, and she continued serving the school community long after they graduated.

Jenny was the cherished wife of Tyrus Lee Cobb, her partner in life for 58 years until his passing in 2022. Together, they built a family grounded in love, loyalty, and unwavering support.

She was the loving mother of Tammy Wilyard (Dan) and Ty Hudson Cobb (Chris); proud grandmother of Michael Wilyard (Carolyn), Amanda Wilyard, Tyrus Cobb IV, and Breanna Cobb; and delighted great‑grandmother of Anna and Grace Wilyard.

Above all, Jenny was a devoted supporter of her family. She showed up — joyfully, consistently, wholeheartedly — at every milestone, celebration, and sporting event. Her presence was a source of comfort and encouragement, and her cheers could always be counted on from the stands.

Jenny’s legacy lives on in the family she loved so fiercely and the countless moments she brightened with her warmth and dedication.
