Obituary

Kathleen Covell, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on July 14, 2024, in New Boston, Michigan, at the age of 84. Born on May 5, 1940, in Detroit, Michigan, Kathleen lived a life full of love, warmth, and dedication to those around her.

Throughout her life, Kathleen showcased her meticulous nature and keen eye for detail as a Medical Transcriptionist. Her career was marked by her unwavering commitment to accuracy and her compassionate approach, touching the lives of many in the medical field.

Kathleen had an infectious zest for life that was evident in her varied interests and hobbies. She could often be found engrossed in a good book or enjoying a lively game of bingo. Shopping trips brought her joy, as did the occasional visit to the casino where she would test her luck. Her love for puzzles showcased her sharp mind and patience, while her frequent trips to Florida highlighted her adventurous spirit.

A true family matriarch, Kathleen treasured every moment spent with her loved ones. She found immense joy in the laughter and companionship of her friends and family, and nothing lit up her heart more than seeing her beloved grandchildren.

Kathleen is survived by her devoted husband, Ray Covell; her caring daughters, Jodi (Raymond) Schultz and Jill Covell; her adored grandchildren, Shane Bergiel and Jessica (Andrew) Graves; and her precious great-grandchildren, Baron, Beau, and Rory. Each one of them will forever remember her as a beacon of love, kindness, and inspiration.

As we celebrate Kathleen's life, we are reminded of the incredible legacy she leaves behind—a testament to her unwavering love and the joyful spirit she shared with all whom she encountered. Her memory will continue to inspire and guide us, living on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her. Her cremation will take place at “The Witness Crematory” located inside of Michigan Memorial Funeral Home.
