Leroy Young Clarke, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother, passed away peacefully on March 8, 2025, in Woodhaven, Michigan. Born on October 25, 1935, in Detroit, Michigan, Leroy lived a fulfilling life of 89 years.
Leroy proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, an experience that shaped his character and values profoundly. After his service, he dedicated many years as a Truck Driver for Ford Automotive Co., where he became known for his strong work ethic and unwavering commitment.
Leroy was a man of diverse interests who found joy both on and off the road. He was an avid golfer, often spending sunny afternoons perfecting his swing. He also enjoyed the thrill of visiting the casino, and watching YouTube videos.
He was preceded in death by his beloved spouse, Virginia; his parents, Daniel and Blanche; and his brother, Daniel Clarke. Leroy treasured his family above all. He is survived by his children, David (Sheri) Clarke, Darlene (the late Mike) Cole, and Diane (Steven) Farrell. His legacy lives on through his grandchildren, Alex (Taylor), Angela (Nathan), Andrew (Molly), Dylan, and Kyle; and his cherished great-grandchildren, Adelyn, Makayla, Luke, and Logan. Leroy is also survived by his sister, Shirley (the late Harold) Trudeau, and his sister-in-law, Virginia Clarke, along with several nieces and nephews who will hold his memory dear.
His cremation will take place at "The Witness Crematory," located inside Michigan Memorial Funeral Home. His family will forever hold in their hearts the love and laughter he brought into their lives.
