  • I got to know Mike at the Taylor Community Development Corporation, We both served as board members. He was always very friendly and pleasant. Our condolences and prayers go out to his family and loved ones. May He Rest In Peace. Conrad Valle
  • Yvonne, Karen, Tom, Rob, Kim, my deepest condolences to you and your families. I have always cherished the memories of growing up with Mike and yourselves on Myler street. Mike had that personality that brought a smile and laughter to everyone he knew. He was always the first to lend a helping hand to those in need. On occasion when I was in Taylor I would happen to see Mike and the “Mayor” would give me an update on family, friends and local events. He knew everyone and everything. Michael, your memory will live on with everyone you touched. Your star will forever shine bright. Peace my friend. Jim and Chris Janiczek. Jim and Chris Janiczek
  • I knew Mike when he served as a Board member for First Catholic (now Alliance Catholic) and at the Telegraph Cruises every year. I had played hockey as well and was fun to talk to him about that too. Such a passionate and caring individual, I truly enjoyed knowing him. May God bless him and his family. Compassion for his Passion
  • To Yvonne and family. Mike was a special person. I never saw him without a smile on his face and a hug for everyone. He was such a kind and generous person volunteering and serving in so many ways. We were blessed to have him in our lives for so many years. We will never forget him and we are here if you need us for anything. Love to you and your family, I Mike and Kathy Spencer
  • I would like to mention a recent example of how generous Mike was with his time. We met for lunch on Nov. 2nd and I mentioned that I was pulling my small boat out for the season. Mike offered to help after lunch. I told him it was a small boat, and I could probably manage by myself. No way he says and so he drove his truck to Gibraltar and was a great help. We went for a short boat ride before pulling it and talked about fishiing trips in the future. Then the following Sunday Mike and Yvonne stopped by a farmers' market I was doing in Grosse Ile. Mike was so excited to introduce me to Yvonne and he insisted I eat a pastry he bought for me. I went to St. Alfred elementary with Mike and TC and just last year caught up with him at the TC reunion. I am so lucky to have had the little time with him and I will always remember how great and giving he was. Best wishes to us all who can say they knew this great guy during this difficult time. bob zieleniewski

  • Mike Cleaver and his wife, Yvonne, were very lovely people. When I went to Taylor events he was usually there like the St. Alfred's Fall Festival or the Taylor Cruise etc. When Mike would see me ,he would say : "How are you today Gloria"? His wife was just as friendly. He was always setting up tents and places to be seated and working to make whatever event comfortable to the many people that would attend. As well as a caring individual, he loved people and always tried to help at whatever. Mike Cleaver loved his community and Performed "Good Works" which will never be forgotten. I just know that whatever gathering is going on ,people will feel like something is missing because they will not see him, but the spirit of Mike Cleaver will be there! Rest in Peace and I know you are now at a wonderful [place! God Bless you! Gloria Amin Gloria Amin

  • My wife Nicole brought Mikes childhood home before we started dating. Mike was a great neighbor, he always had a great handshake and a great big smile. That smile and handshake will be missed as we get back to the old neighborhood often, Nicole’s son and wife bought our home 3 years ago and we moved to New Boston. Our deepest condolences to Yavoan and the entire Family. May our Heavenly Father keep you all strong and ease the pain of your loss. GOD Bless you all. Old neighbors

  • Praying for Yvonne and her family in this devastating time of sadness. Such a great loss to those who loved him and our community. Mike was a wonderful friend and neighbor. He was a generous, kind and upbeat man. He was always chuckling and had a positive outlook on everything. Our neighborhood will never be the same. We will miss our dear friend and think of him often especially when we sit on our front porch and he no longer drives by with a honk and a wave or stops to talk as he’s taking his morning walk to get the paper. It was a pleasure to know you, Mike. You were one of a kind and will be greatly missed. Randy and Karen Smith

  • Mike and I have been friends since childhood. He even knew how my grandmother cut my sandwiches for me when we were kids and she made lunch for us. He always had a good laugh about it! Mike is an outstanding individual and a fantastic friend to everyone. He was always willing to assist anyone that needed help. Due to this, I really appreciated how he always went out of his way to make sure I was comfortable and well taken care of at the events I attended. My thoughts and prayers are going out to Yvonne and the rest of his family as they go on this journey without him. Mike, I will miss you, but will see you on the other side in the future. Rest in Peace! Love you. Carl Harris
