Oppie Lee Clark, cherished wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on February 24, 2026, in Brownstown, Michigan. Born on July 23, 1938, in Pineville, Kentucky, she graced this world with her presence for 87 years, touching the lives of all who knew her.

Oppie's life was a testament to the love and joy she found in her family and passions. She had a deep affection for church music and found immense joy in singing it. Her voice and spirit lifted the hearts of those around her. A devoted mother and grandmother, she found great delight in nurturing and spending time with her beloved children and grandchildren, always providing them with warmth and encouragement.

An avid reader, Oppie enjoyed immersing herself in books, particularly romance novels. Her love for words extended to her enjoyment of crossword puzzles, which she tackled with enthusiasm and skill. She also cherished quiet evenings watching mystery films, finding comfort in their suspenseful stories.

Oppie treasured the bonds she shared with her family, particularly the moments spent playing rook with her sisters-in-law, where laughter and camaraderie were plenty.

Preceded in death by her parents, John and Ada Ervin, her son Timothy Wade Byard, her daughter Tammy Lynn Byard, her granddaughter Sarah Lee Lake, and her siblings Delano, Larkin, JB, Jackie, Jerry, Paul, Raymond, Argene, Hubert, and her sister Sally.

She leaves behind her devoted husband, Hood Clark, and her children, John Franklin Clark (Brenda), Ada Marie Clark, Lisa Fay Clark, and Rebecca Sue Clark (Rob) (Gorney). Her legacy continues through her grandchildren, Raymond, Tim, Richard "Nick," Dewayne, Gordon (Moe), Shawn, Roger, Adam, Alicia, Michael, David, Robbie, Corey, Vanessa, and Faith, along with many beloved great-grandchildren. Her brothers, John Ervin and George Ervin, also survive her, ensuring her memory lives on.
