Obituary

Tony Francis Cox, born on March 19, 1974, in Dearborn, Michigan, passed away on August 12, 2024, in Trenton, Michigan, at the age of 50. Tony was a dedicated and loving husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend whose kindness, generosity, and honesty were felt by all who knew him.


He leaves behind his beloved wife, Nichole O'Neill-Cox, and his cherished son, Christian (Kara Sanna-O'Neill), who he loved dearly and always ensured their happiness was also close to Tony's heart. Tony is further survived by his loving father, George Hall, his sisters, Candice Cox-Gutowski; Tricia (Shauna) Williamson-O’Neill, his brother, Donny Cox; and his two nieces and two nephews. He will be greatly missed by numerous caring cousins and friends.
Tony was preceded in death by his mother, Sally Sarah Cox, and his grandparents, Wilma and Melvin Cox.


For over 31 years, Tony served as a Plant Manager at Fritz Enterprises, where he was known as a dedicated and dependable employee, who also was like family. 


Outside of work, Tony enjoyed boating and fishing with his son and cousins. For the last 15 years, Tony has fostered hundreds of senior and special needs dogs. A true testament to his gentle spirit, Tony cherished spending time with his family and his rides through the Metroparks with his dogs. Above all, Tony’s honesty, kindness, and generosity left a lasting impression on everyone he met.


A Memorial Visitation will be held on Friday, August 23, 2024, from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A Memorial Service will take place on Saturday, August 24, 2024, at 11:00 AM, followed by inurnment at Michigan Memorial Park. His cremation took place at The Witness Crematory, located inside Michigan Memorial Funeral Home.


Tony’s memory will forever be treasured by his family, friends, and all who were lucky enough to have known him. May he rest in peace.
