Obituary

Trena Joy Carmody, age 62, of Ann Arbor, Michigan, passed away on September 11, 2024. Trena was born on April 27, 1962, in Wyandotte, Michigan.

Trena dedicated much of her life to service and hard work. She served honorably in the Army and later went on to build a career as a manager in food service. Her commitment to her work was matched only by her love for life and her family.

Residing in Ann Arbor, Trena was known for her passion for local street fairs, which she attended with great enthusiasm. She had a profound love for cooking, often preparing meals that brought joy to those around her. Trena also enjoyed watching romantic comedies, playing cards, and cheering for the University of Michigan and the Detroit Red Wings.

Trena is preceded in death by her beloved parents, Patricia (Manuel) Finazzo and her sister Shelby Jo Tanner. She is survived by her children, Jessica Carmody, Amanda (Nolan) Kerr, DJ Carmody, and Danielle (Jared) Johnson. Trena was a cherished grandmother to Jerome II, Nolan Jr., Lexi, Slater, Kassidy, Hunter, and Jameson. She is also survived by her sister, Pamela Renaie.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the VA, honoring Trena's dedication to her country and her service in the Army.

Trena Joy Carmody will be remembered for her loving spirit, her dedication to her family and community, and the joy she brought into the lives of all who knew her. She will be deeply missed.

Condolences

  • I'm shocked and saddened by Trena sudden passing. She was my Jeff's partner for many years so that made her part of my life too. Since Jeff's passing Trena and I reminisced about the many good times. To her children I can say she adored each of you. She was quick to brag about all of you. Trena was a loyal loving partner to Jeff and I appreciated her. I picture Jeff's surprise as Trena arrived to join him in the afterlife. Now they are together again. Losing a mother is hard and there will be many sad days. Take comfort in knowing her demons stayed here, she is free and happy. Trena, thank you for adding so much to my life. I will always miss you. • I was so shocked to hear of Trena's passing, she was a childhood friend of mine in River Rouge. Trena was so good to me as a friend and I remember all of the sleep overs I had at her house, Trena's house was like a second home to me the Family treated me very good. I wish we could have stayed in contact. To her Children you have such a great and caring Mother. My prayers are with the Family. Cheryl Kankula
