Obituary
We announce with deep sorrow the passing of Virgie Mary Carrasco, who departed this life on February 12, 2026, in Livonia, Michigan. Born on May 8, 1923, in Dennis, Mississippi, she lived a long and full life, reaching the age of 102.
Virgie was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Ira J. and Florence A. Burleson, her cherished daughter, Cherry (Clark) Davis, her dear brothers, Justus C. (Betty) Burleson, Ira J. Burleson II, and Cliffton M. Burleson, as well two nephews.
Her memory lives on in the hearts of those she leaves behind, including her grandchildren Camey Davis, Craig Davis, and Cathy (Terry) Dishaw. She is also survived by her siblings Clarence (Mary) Burleson and Martha (Jerry) Lindsey, as well as her 10 nieces.
Virgie will be remembered for her enduring spirit and the love she shared with her family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Guardian Lutheran Church in Dearborn, Michigan and St. Edwards Hall on Fort Gratiot.
