Arnold Carl Doede of Monroe, MI passed away peacefully at ProMedica Mercy Hospital of Monroe on December 22, 2017. Beloved husband of the late Janet L. Doede. Loving father of Julie (Rich) Horn and Cheryl (Rick) Guy. Dearest grandfather of Chloe Horn, Abbi , Anna and Richie Guy. He is preceded in death by his parents Arnold and Clara Doede. Arnie graduated Airport High School in 1950, served the U.S. Army from 1952 – 1954. Upon his return, he married Janet on August 28, 1954. Arnie was an Electrician retired from U of M Dearborn and later retired from his maintenance position with Huron School District. Arnie was a life long member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, where he served as an elder and was in various choirs. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the House of Restoration (non-denomination ministry serving the needy and homeless of Monroe) or the American Cancer Society.

So sorry to hear of the passing of your father on Friday! Our deepest & sincere condolences. 85 is a pretty full life. He’s in a much better place now. May that knowledge and the love of our Savior, who’s birth we celebrate and honor this Christmas season, lift and comfort you both and your families. Grace contacted me with the news. Obviously I won’t make it to Michigan for the funeral, but I’ll be there in spirit and you’ll be in my thoughts & prayers.
