Obituary

Charles "Chuck" Alfred Domke, affectionately known to many as "Silver Otter" and "Chuckles," passed away peacefully on March 8, 2025, in Trenton, Michigan, at the age of 94. Born on September 15, 1930, in Rockwood, Michigan, Chuck lived a full and vibrant life, leaving behind a legacy cherished by family, friends, and community.

Chuck devoted his professional career to sales with Snap-on Tools, where he was known for his dedication and integrity. Beyond his work, he was a proud Army veteran who bravely served on the front lines during the Korean War. His commitment to service extended beyond his military duties; he was also a devoted volunteer firefighter, always ready to lend a helping hand in times of need.

An avid outdoorsman, Chuck found joy in nature through hunting and golfing. He was a passionate bowler and enjoyed the camaraderie of playing cards. Baseball was another of his beloved pastimes, a sport he followed with enthusiasm throughout his life. Chuck was also a former valued member of the Flat Rock Elks, where he shared many memorable moments with his fellow members.

Chuck was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Delia "Sue" Domke; his parents, Charles and Mildred Domke; his son-in-law, James Anderson; his sister, Joyce Whithey; and his brother, Allan Domke.

He is survived by his loving children: Terri Anderson, Kurt (Crystal) Domke, Lorri (Todd) Proudlock, Vicki (William) Suyak, and Shelli (Ryan) Proudlock. Chuck's legacy continues through his grandchildren: Gregory (Erica) Guzzi, Lindsey (Thomas) LaGrow, Kristi Domke, Jessica (Joe) Steffey, Kurt (Jayda Lorence)  Domke II, Cameron (Erin) Proudlock, Megan (Mark) Napier, Jacob Robillard, Ryan Robillard, Thomas Proudlock, and Alexis (Zachary) Romano. He also leaves behind 15 great-grandchildren and eagerly anticipated the arrival of a new baby Domke.

For the past 16 years, Chuck shared his life with his dear companion, Patricia Labeau, whose presence brought him comfort and happiness.

Chuck's memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him. His infectious laugh, unwavering kindness, and adventurous spirit touched the lives of many. He will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
