Obituary

Debra Kay Drzewiecki, born on April 7, 1952, in Monroe, Michigan, passed away on December 8, 2024, in Flat Rock, Michigan, at the age of 72.

Debra dedicated many years of her professional life to the field of human resources at Ford Motor Company, where she retired from. Beyond her career, she was a woman of many talents and passions. Her family and friends fondly remember her for the massive amounts of Christmas cookies she lovingly baked each year, with her chocolate chip cookies being a particular favorite.

Debra also found joy in crocheting, sewing, and gardening, activities through which she expressed her creativity and care. Her love language was unmistakably taking care of all her loved ones, a testament to her nurturing spirit.

Debra was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Michael Drzewiecki; her parents, Clyde and Lois Graves; her sisters, Shirley Jean and Jackie; her brothers, Wayne and David; and her grandmother, Doris Richardson.

She is survived by her children, Sara (John), Steve, and Joyce (Candace); her cherished grandchildren, Shayla, Blake, Carter, and Jaclyn; her sisters, Beverly (Jon) Wilber, Cherie (Jerry) Emerick, and Lora Engle; her brothers, Daniel (Kathy), Chris, and Gary; as well as many other family members and friends who will miss her dearly.

Condolences

  • I worked with Deb at Outer Drive Hospital. She was a great person, and one of the few who made me feel welcomed when I started working there. Such a kind, generous, and wonderful person. She even dropped off my check when I was on maternity leave. We also worked at Ford but kind of lost touch since we both had a lot going on. For some reason, she has been in my thoughts lately. The world would be a better person if there were more people like Deb. Karen Poteet
