Obituary
Diane Lee Daniels, born on July 21, 1947, in Highland Park, Michigan, passed away at the age of 78 on March 23, 2026, in Lincoln Park, Michigan.
Diane was a woman of deep convictions and spirited imagination. As an avid bear enthusiast and a dedicated believer in the mysteries of Bigfoot, she spent countless hours pursuing her passion for 'squatching'—seeking out the elusive creature among the vast wilderness. Her love for discovery and adventure was a guiding light throughout her life, inspiring those around her to embrace curiosity.
She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Robert Clarence Rowe and Leona Rowe. Diane is survived by her devoted husband, Richard Daniels, with whom she shared many cherished years.
Her legacy continues through her loving children, Deniese (Anthony Wilhelm) Smith and Paul (MaryKaye) Daniels, who will remember her warmth and guidance. Diane's memory will also be carried forward by her nine grandchildren: Cody Smith (Gabby), Amanda Alvarez (Marc), Holly Smith (Rob Kirby), Tony Wilhelm Jr. (Nicole), Caitlyn Wilhelm (Joe), Tyler Broughton (Courtnay), Kelsey Andrus (Colin), Jessica Joseph, and Nick Joseph, as well as her six great-grandchildren: Morgan, Myles, Ashton, George, Sawyer, and Elli.
Diane is additionally survived by her dear siblings, Valerie, Julie, Jeanna, Bruce, and Brian, who will fondly recall the joyful times shared together.
In her passing, Diane leaves behind a family enriched by her love, a community touched by her spirit, and a world that will forever echo with the stories she told and the adventures she lived
