Obituary
Edna Louise Darnell-May, a beloved matriarch and cherished friend, passed away on December 5, 2024, in Howell, Michigan, at the age of 95. Born on February 4, 1929, in Mayfield, Kentucky, Edna was the daughter of Lawrence and Zelma Tynes.
Louise will be remembered for her unwavering devotion to her family, which she lovingly demonstrated through the countless Sunday dinners she hosted, bringing together generations around her table. Her legacy as a mother, grandmother, and beyond is a testament to her enduring love and dedication to those she held dear.
Louiseās memory will be forever treasured by her surviving children: Terry (JoAnn) Darnell, Dianna Jannett, and Janice (Edward) Hall. She leaves behind a legacy through her grandchildren: Shannon Hrbal-Hall, Shane (Carol) Hrbal, Sean (Sheri) Hrbal, Michael (Kelly) Catalano, Jay (Adria) Catalano, Tracie Darnell, Terry (Jennifer) Darnell, Jeri-Lynn (Theodoro) Ionita, and Rachel (James) Hall-Goyer. Her lineage extends further through her 13 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren, all of whom carry forward her spirit and values.
Louise is also survived by her dear sisters, Dorothy Smith and Jean Watkins, who shared with her the bonds of family and the joys of a life well-lived.
She was preceded in death by her cherished children, Edna Hrbal and Patricia Watson, her first husband, Chesley Darnell, her second husband, Noah May, her parents, and three brothers and two sisters.
Her presence will be deeply missed, yet her spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
