Gail Elizabeth DesMarais, born on April 18, 1939 and passed away on April 4, 2026, in Novi, Michigan, at the age of 86.
Gail devoted her career to serving others as an assistant to the physicians at the University of Michigan, where she provided compassionate and dedicated support. Her work not only reflected her professional skills but also her commitment to caring for those around her.
In her later years, Gail found joy and a sense of community at the American House, where she resided. She cherished interacting with fellow residents, making lasting friendships, and participating in various activities. Her vibrant personality and genuine interest in others brought warmth and happiness to all who knew her.
Above all else, Gail treasured time spent with her family and friends. Her love and devotion to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were the cornerstones of her life. She leaves behind her beloved children: Mike (Michelle) DesMarais, Michele Hudson, and Maureen DesMarais. She was a proud grandmother to seven grandchildren and a loving great-grandmother. Gail's legacy of kindness and love will continue through her family. Gail was preceded in death by her parents, William and Priscilla, and her sister, Garlene (Walter) Gordon.
A memorial visitation to honor Gail's life will be held on Saturday, April 11, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM, followed by a memorial service at 3:00 PM. Inurnment will take place at Michigan Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in honor of Gail to the charity of your choice. Her caring spirit and generous heart will always be remembered by those who were fortunate enough to know her.
